The primary challenge of this shoot is getting James into the right angle of the motorbike. Ok, there weren't any sharks in the actual shot, but given this is a composed image (which we love shooting for by the way), we had to figure out the right pose with a little experimentation along the way. We were happy with the results and this campaign is currently running on EDSA. https://youtu.be/pN1g0zgBX9A Production Credits Client: PepsiAgency: BBDO GuerreroProduction House: Clayshop Inc.Photography: Jay Tablante

Both Jay and I would agree that the studio is our happy place. And for good and practical reason. We're both such control freaks that we would rather simulate the look of a golden sunset or an overcast day with artificial lighting in the convenience of an indoor space with AC, rather than out there with all the heat and smog. (We're brats that way). And sometimes we just can't refuse the call of the great outdoors - and also because, our clients insist and we excitedly oblige and take on the challenge! For this particular shoot with GMA, I was tasked to shoot Vicky Morales. In a public park. On the grass. Out in the sun. I was already thankful that the sunny weather soon turned into an overcast…

Who doesn't like donuts? And more importantly, who doesn't like Krispy Kreme? I remember, already quite a long time ago, those days that we would beg a visiting relative from the US to hand carry at least a dozen of these original sugar glazed babies on their plane ride to Manila. It was on everyone's pasalubong list and once the anticipation was over, savored each sweet bite. No other experience can match its melt-in-your-mouth one of a kind softness. Fast forward to my photo shoot for Krispy Kreme. Shooting, while eating made me reminisce about those sweet old days. There was an unlimited supply for the whole production team that day from our on location venue at their BGC High Street branch to Dayang Studio. I enjoy lifestyle shoots. Lifestyle…

And just like that, 10 years have gone by - a thrilling ride to say the least. It may not be the most prestigious award but it sure feels that way and to me, a timely and fitting way to mark a decade in the industry. Thank you to my friend, Maan D'Asis Pamaran who invited me to contribute and to landscape photographer extraordinaire for giving her the lead. ;-P Interestingly, I've worked with Maan only once and eons ago on a lifestyle article I already forgot about. I've since been an avid follower of her humorous and enlightening Facebook Feed. You should too. Ayan, we still have yet to get another round of beer together. Can you please take a breather from being such an awesome landscape photographer? Where…

I've worked with both Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo a number of times all on separate occasions in the past. Cain At Abel brings these two GMA stalwarts together in one exciting, action-packed production that tells of two brothers separated at childhood and then joined together years after in cruel twists of fate. Both men are considered showbiz royalty and yet manage to remain grounded and humble having come a long way in their respective careers. I've worked with all kinds of actors in the industry and the most rewarding to collaborate with are the ones with a deep respect and utmost dedication for their craft. Both men have earned their place in the tumultuous and fickle industry and I have personally seen why. Giving direction during a photo shoot…

Quite honored to be a regular with one of the premier agencies in the country, JWT Manila. It's always fun shooting with this agency, not to mention I used to work there before as a creative. For this project, it was for Rogin E. They had my do a signature lighting we used for Men's Health magazine. You can also watch the behind the scenes on how we did the shoot, even up to the light effect at the back. -Jay [embed]https://youtu.be/SYgFN8Ndp8w[/embed] Production Credits Client: Bayer Philippines Agency: J. I won't deny it! I love working with pretty faces and pretty things! There's no judgement here! I'm not trying to launch a debate about what society has ingrained in our perception of beauty yada-yada. It's just human nature to always seek out the best! I'm lucky enough to work with three of the prettiest in the biz - not to mention talented and influential too! Here are some publicity photos of Rhian Ramos, Lovi Poe and Max Collins for GMA Network's 'The One That Got Away'.
