Paulo Travels: DDP, Seoul, South Korea

Architecture, Paulo Travels
In a vibrant city such as Seoul, everything takes on a different charm and character as soon as dusk sets in (sunsets during the Summer season are as late as seven to eight in the evening, by the way). With my trusty Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens, plus the lightest tripod that I'll ever own, the aptly titled "BeFree" Manfrotto travel tripod, I made my way to Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a silver meandering bastion by day and a spectacular structural lightshow at night. Designed by legandary Iraqui-British architect Zaha Hadid, the impressive structure houses a fashion design information center with seminar rooms and a lecture hall. The DDP is distinctively neofuturistic in design and is characterized by the "powerful,…

Paulo Travels: San Agustin Church, Intramuros

Paulo Travels
The San Agustin Church is one of the more interesting must-see sites found within the historic walled city of Intramuros. Built between 1587 and 1606, it is the oldest church in the Philippines. The church has survived a number of natural disasters, fires as well as looting during wartime in its centuries-old existence. Because of this, a high ISO…

Mulawin vs. Ravena

GMA come up with the sequel to one of their early fantaserye hits, Mulawin. This follows the next chapter of characters from the original arc while introducing new ones along the way. It was fun shooting them since we all had flight elements going on and guys like Dennis Trillo can certainly hold some hang time while jumping. For the benefit of Filipino commuters, Grab Philippines has introduced GrabShare, a ride sharing service that guarantees that each trip will have only one additional drop-off, so you avoid unnecessary detours. Paulo: This was actually done within the confines of a studio using simulated natural light with strobes. Client wanted some soft "afternoon" light coming through the car windows.
