Both Jay and I would agree that the studio is our happy place. And for good and practical reason. We’re both such control freaks that we would rather simulate the look of a golden sunset or an overcast day with artificial lighting in the convenience of an indoor space with AC, rather than out there with all the heat and smog. (We’re brats that way).
And sometimes we just can’t refuse the call of the great outdoors – and also because, our clients insist and we excitedly oblige and take on the challenge! For this particular shoot with GMA, I was tasked to shoot Vicky Morales. In a public park. On the grass. Out in the sun. I was already thankful that the sunny weather soon turned into an overcast sky (with an irresistable softbox quality), but then the clouds turned dark and the threat of rain became more of a reality. Yes I know, there’s an app for that.
It pays to be prepared for this generation’s weather disturbances. Moisture and equipment are a bad and very expensive combination. Checkout the behind the scenes video below to see where our setup ended up in 🙂 -Paulo
