Here’s some trivia! These sunglasses were shot in 2014 but I made some 2020 post production edits on them. Fortunately, there is an abundance of time during this pandemic to revisit old images and work on backlog.
I thought of putting these high-end sunglasses against some very interesting coffee table book photos to match their design and vibe. Most of these were lit using just one hard light to the side along with some white reflector cards and gobos. There clearly was an emphasis on detail and craftsmanship.
Personally, I find it worthwhile to revisit old photo shoots. Depending on how old they are, you rediscover the thought process you had back then and compare it to how you would maybe light it a different way today, hopefully having gained more experience through the years in between. Sometimes you also discover that it’s certainly rewarding to go back to basics, brush up on fundamentals and go back to less complicated setups, less editing. There surely is more than one way to skin a cat!
