Promil

Some previous work we found and just thought of posting just for the sake of posterity. And yes so you guys can see how our typical day is like shooting for clients. Though there is some sort of familiarity in advertising projects, each shoot still presents some unique challenges. Like... shooting with kids. For one, government law mandates kids can only work for four (4) hours per shooting day. Mind you, this was still before the pandemic. Today's requirements are way stricter to implement. https://youtu.be/wFW9vfW03Hs Production Credits: Client: Wyeth PhilippinesAgency: Campaigns & GreyPhotographer: Jay Tablante

Botanika

Botanika

As the city tightens up, space is indeed becoming a new luxury. New living spaces have been sprawling up outwards of Metro Manila just to have a glimpse of greenery in the mornings. We had this amazing opportunity to work on this project to show how space can change the way to experience our lives. We don't need to cram ourselves within Metro Manila if we can. The National Museum of Natural History Manila

The National Museum of Natural History Manila

New buildings around the city are noticeably on the rise and quite a few of them have been refurbished, updated and repurposed as well. The 'new' National Museum of Natural History in Manila is one of the more interesting and compelling architectural feats that draws young and old from far and wide, selfie addicts included. Housed in the former Department of Tourism building, the National Museum of Natural history has retained its neoclassical details with the addition of its more modern centerpiece called 'The Tree of Life', an impressive geometrical glass ceiling and elevator that emulates a DNA helix right…

Paulo Travels: DDP, Seoul, South Korea

Paulo Travels: DDP, Seoul, South Korea

In a vibrant city such as Seoul, everything takes on a different charm and character as soon as dusk sets in (sunsets during the Summer season are as late as seven to eight in the evening, by the way). With my trusty Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens, plus the lightest tripod that I'll ever own, the aptly titled "BeFree" Manfrotto travel tripod, I made my way to Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a silver meandering bastion by day and a spectacular structural lightshow at night. Designed by legandary Iraqui-British architect Zaha…

Nobu Restaurant Manila

Nobu Restaurant Manila

Nobu is the world’s most recognized Japanese restaurant, known for its innovative and modern cuisine, paired with a hip crowd and celebrity following. Paulo: The interiors of Nobu combine distinct Japanese motifs executed in both a traditional and modern way and demonstrates a cohesive East-West yin and yang. This had to be photographed late into the evening through the wee hours of the morning since the lighting emphasized more drama and opulence to the interiors. Crystal Dragon

Crystal Dragon

Crystal Dragon features authentic regional Chinese dishes as well as premium Cantonese fare. Paulo: Shooting in this very photogenic venue reminded me of what an opulent restaurant in Shanghai or Hong Kong would look like during the 1930s or 1940s. Very visually unique and highly stylized. Very Wong Kar-wai. [supsystic-gallery id='13'] Production Credits Client: Melco Crown Philippines Agency: BBDO Guerrero Photography: Paulo Navarra

Pangaea, Manila

Pangaea, Manila

Paulo: Manila's club scene will never be the same again, with the opening of the ultra lounge experience, Pangaea. It was surely a blast (and also a challenge) shooting its very unique interiors with lush textures and details as well as working with club owner, THE Michael Ault. Although not much light was needed for the interior, the mood had to be maintained and translated faithfully in the photos so long exposures were the order of the day (as well as the most sturdy and stable tripod!)      [supsystic-gallery id='36'] Production Credits Client: City of Dreams - Pangaea Manila…
