The challenge of shooting with kids is the limited time you can have them in front of the camera. Kids are only permitted 4 hours shooting time, so every minute counts. Good thing our talent for this shoot was easy to direct and nailed most our shots shots within that window. It also helped the mom talent is her actual mom too. Hehehe. It was great working with James again on this campaign. And turns out to be an interesting challenge. Shooting cars is already hard, what more when it's a bad ass jeep with James and friends riding on the top?! We had to give the illusion of speed on this one, while sitting comfortably in the studio. With that, we had to bring out most of our lights and do an artificial sun effect in the studio. We did a ton more layouts during this campaign and I hope the brand is able to make good use of them. James with…

Now is a great time to dedicate a post to the unsung heroes of any advertising campaign photo shoot. They are the often times nameless, unacknowledged yet very talented beings (and probably the most harassed) but still ever prepared wardrobe stylists and production/set designers. I would even go so far to say that they literally make the photographer's shots look good, who with their meticulous eye for detail bend the most to the client's whim. It's most often because of them that each shot looks so well put together. Together with the rest of the team, they know what works…

Despite the challenges shooting during a pandemic, this was certainly a project we were excited for. This calendar was done during the height of the restrictions, so you can imagine the hoops we had to jump to finish the shoot well within time. Good thing Christelle was such a trooper throughout the entire day. Production Credits Client: Ginebra San MiguelAgency: Dentsu One ManilaProduction House: Edge of LightPhotography: Jay Tablante

As the city tightens up, space is indeed becoming a new luxury. New living spaces have been sprawling up outwards of Metro Manila just to have a glimpse of greenery in the mornings. We had this amazing opportunity to work on this project to show how space can change the way to experience our lives. We don't need to cram ourselves within Metro Manila if we can. Quite the interesting project to do with one of the known brands in coffee. We had the chance to fly to Bukidnon and do this shoot with legit coffee farmers. PROMAMA Philippines

The ability of a model to conjure just the right kind of emotion with her face and body as the photographer captures those decisive moments is part of the 'magic' of photography. There's a dynamic here that may or may not result in the best images. Working with a model (professional or not) is most rewarding when she doesn't hold back, when she's not afraid to look silly, when she infects everyone on set with her energy and when she gives more then what is asked with her - this is a portrait photographer's dream. When this happens, the photographer…
